Welcome to our class page!

Our class team is Mrs Dolan, Mrs Toft and Mrs Horsfield.

In class 5 we have a jewel jar and we can collect jewels when we are working well together as a table team and class team. Once we get 100 jewels we will get a class treat! The children can also earn raffle tickets for individual effort and super listening. Each Friday 2 names will be drawn from the box and a little reward given. The sticker cards will still be used and stickers given for ‘wow’ moments such as a fantastic effort in a piece of work, kindness towards other or a determined effort in any area of learning.

We ask that the reading record is handed in on a Thursday so that we can see how reading is going at home. We truly believe that being able to read opens our mind up to new ideas, creative imaginations and the learning of new vocabulary. Reading with and to children is still so important and so where you can find time or opportunity to do this it will really benefit your child.

Spellings will be given on a Friday ready to be tested the following Friday. Please help your child to learn them and you could even challenge yourself! The spellings will be sent home with a little update on what we have been doing each week so that you can chat to your child about their learning.

In year 5 individual times tables are not sent home but we expect children to be able to know and use them all so please continue to support your child with these. You could even have a times table challenge in the car or walk to school. Who will be the fastest you or your child? Do you have a rapid recall of your 8 times table?

PE is on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon so please make sure your child has a named PE kit in school.

We are happy to meet with any parent if you have any concerns or queries and can often be found on the door before or after school.

Please enjoy seeing our photos below of a range of different activities and topics we have learnt about in school. This includes drama from Street Child, our visit to the church to learn about the Huskar disaster, our William Morris Art work, D.T skills of making a jewellery box and our baking.
